Compaq to Exhibit Presario and Contura
Aero Products at CES
HOUSTON, December 22, 1994 -- Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE:CPQ) today
announced it will display its award-winning families of
consumer-oriented PCs at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show (CES)
in Las Vegas, January 6-9, 1995. The company is inviting show
attendees to "Journey Ahead with Compaq" and will display its
Presario PCs for the home and home office and Contura Aero
ultra-portable PCs for the mobile lifestyle.
Compaq will display its all-star products in booth #10439 of the
North Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Company has also
scheduled a special all-star guest appearance by Hakeem Olajuwon --
1994 NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) and current starting center of
the World Champion Houston Rockets basketball team. Olajuwon is
scheduled to be available for autographs and photos at the Compaq
booth on Sunday, January 8.

personal productivity, but also as a source of entertainment,

Compaq Presario Family of Home PCs
Compaq's new next-generation Presario PCs are the easiest-to-use
products it has ever produced. The Compaq Presario family includes
the award-winning, "all-in-one" Presario 500 Series; the Presario
700 series that features a traditional desktop design; and the
Presario 900 series of mini-tower PCs. Standard features across the
line include such multimedia features as speakerphone, telephone
answering machine, CD-ROM drive, fax modem and audio CD
capabilities. The Compaq Presario CDTV 520 and Presario CDTV 924
also feature built-in television receiver. The Presario 500 series
features high-quality, built-in stereo speakers, with the same
speakers built onto the Presario Multimedia Monitors for the
Presario 700 and 900 series PCs.
Compaq Contura Aero Ultra-Portable PCs
The Compaq Contura Aero family of ultra-portable PCs is ideal for
mobile professionals, students, or any consumers who lead an active
lifestyle. Weighing only 3-1/2 pounds and smaller than a piece of
notebook paper, the Aero is available in color and monochrome
versions, includes a powerful 486 microprocessor and an up to 250
megabyte hard drive. Bundled with the Aero is an ultra-light floppy
disk drive that plugs into the unit through a PCMCIA slot.

Both the Compaq Presario and Contura Aero families of PCs have
captured industry awards. Most recently, the Compaq Presario CDTV
520 was included in the 1994 "Best of What's New" awards given by
Popular Science magazine for innovation and achievement in science
and technology. Popular Mechanics magazine awarded the Contura Aero
and the Compaq Presario 500 series with its 1994 Design &
Engineering award.
